PMD Review

Feb 27, 2012 | | 2 comments
I've heard so many people talking about the PMD, I was so excited to try the product for myself. As an avid bimonthly facial goer, I'm always looking for products and tools that can substitute going to the facialist so I can save some money at home.

The PMD is a Personal Microdermabrasion device that uses Aluminum Oxide Crystals and a vacuum suction as a noninvasive form of exfoliation to smooth away dead skin cells. It is said that if you use it weekly, it will minimize the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, hyperpigmentation and blemishes. This can allow the skin to become brighter, rejuvenated, while promoting new collagen growth and cell renewal. [I got most of this information off their website]

I have extremely tough skin when it comes to peels, devices, lotions (I only get sensitivity to dirty fingers and germy things lol), but I was still a bit nervous, as I've heard this is a very strong tool and you HAVE to use it properly or else things could go awry! They urge that the very first thing you do when you receive your kit is to watch the DVD to make sure you know exactly how to use the PMD.

Well here she is :) It comes with the PMD, two screw on tops for different size discs, 4 face discs (a mild set and a courser set) and then 4 larger discs for the body (a mild set and a courser set), the plug,  the DVD and a warranty card.

Here is a close up of the PMD tool. This one is disc that is recommended for the body.

Below I demonstrate how to use the tool on my hand. I am using the small face disc. I decided I would show you how to use the product on my hand since I didn't want to accidentally mess up on my face as I was trying to PMD my face AND take photos lol.

After you pull your skin tight, you make contact with the suction and your skin, once you feel the suction, you have to make sure you are constantly moving the product and NEVER hover over one spot (thats how mess ups happen!)

Afterwards, it will leave a white kind of residue and may leave your skin a bit pink. That's normal - as you can see... even on my extremely tough hand, you can see it. Your face may feel kind of sensitive afterwards, but that is normal. When you are done, tone and moisturize - I heard this device really helps those products sink deep into your skin!

I've already used it once and my face feels scratchy, but not too bad.  I REALLY enjoyed using this product around my nose and chin, as those places are really clogged and spotty. No products can ever penetrate into my skin in those areas! I'm really excited to put this product to the test to see how my face feels in a couple of weeks or longer!

The one thing I did find a bit inconvenient about this product is that in order to use it, it must be plugged in. It's not one of those "charge and go" products - which I suppose is pretty safe now that you think about it...but still it would make for an annoying travel buddy because you have to make sure that you always have the plug.

Overall, I'm still SUPER pumped to have this and can't wait to update you all on how my skin is. With my wedding being 9 months away, I'm excited to have the PMD by my side so I can work my way toward beautiful radiant skin... I'm pretty sure, by the looks of it, that it won't let me down!

Fresh Spa!

Jun 5, 2011 | | 1 comments
I've always been a die hard Fresh-ie, but can never justify the price for skin care since I hardly wash my face (I promise I'm changing!). Well, my friend and I were able to get appointments for a Fresh facial -- and it's SO amazing because although the facial is $125, you are able to get $125 worth of products. So basically you end up buying $125 worth of stuff and get a free facial!

The facial was such an amazing relaxing experience. It's unlike a typical facial because you don't go through any extractions and there is no real 'pain' in it. It's just a wonderful spa-like experience! :)

I tried to be a creepster and take pictures of the facial place! HAHA!

The sink where the facial lady did everything!

That was the head of where I lied :D It was so relaxing!!!

An incredibly dark picture of all the products she used on me!

And then here are the products that I picked up!

Soy Cleanser - one of my FAVORITE cleansers in life. Its so gentle, yet it does a wonderful job at taking off make up! On top of that, it smells delish- like cucumbers and rose petals. Yum!

Floral Water - this is a hydrating toner. I absolutely love this. It is alcohol free and spritzing it makes me feel luxurious and hydrated! It also has a lovely rose scent to it!

Umbrian Clay Mask - such a great clay mask. I really love it! The facialist put this mask on with the rose petal mask on top which was AMAZING, but I couldn't justify paying the extra for the rose mask. but I have been using this mask and it does an amazinggg job at making my skin feel clean without feeling too tight or uncomfortable.

Pink Grapefruit & Sugar Lychee Soaps - YUM!!!! I haven't tried these soaps yet, but they smell amazing!!! :)

Citron de Vigne lotion - omg I love this scent! It's a nice sophisticated summer scent. Smells like flowers, pink grapefruit, citrus... it is just such a divine scent! I was so lucky because she gave me a sample scent for it! :D

Samples/Free Gifts: Sugar Lip gloss (smells SO good), Citron de Vigne perfume, Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask and a small travel size fresh cleanser!! :D

If there is a fresh store by you, i would DEFINITELY recommend going !!! - if not, they have fresh @ sephora where you can try out their products! :)
