Bridal Hair & Makeup Trial - long hair

Hi friends! I have a busy couple of weeks with lots of fun makeup/hair trials. busy season is starting! woot.

Here is lovely Ester :) She's such a fun, sweet lovin' lady - was so fun chit chatting with her and getting to know her better! She wanted an eye look that would compliment her greenish eyes, with a more contoured look and rosy lips. For hair she wanted her hair down and curled with some pinned on the side.

I decided to go for a golden (bordering on coppery) color for her lids with a more purplish toned grey color for the crease to enhance her eyes, add some fun contour on her cheeks and pairing it all off with a beautiful rose lip color.

Jurlique Blogger Event Haul

I was lucky enough to be invited to an exclusive Jurlique blogger event at the Jurlique boutique in New York City. It was a great event where I got to meet other bloggers from the area while getting introduced to the new Jurlique skincare lines and products.

We were lucky enough to score goody/swag bags from the Jurlique team, which was so sweet of them. And for me, incredibly amazing because these were some of the products I wanted to purchase. (Jurlique, my wallet thanks you!) Here are the products and my initial thoughts!

This line has such a beautiful rose scent to it. I generally do not like the smell of roses, but it has a wonderful light true rose scent. It is a thicker cream, so I'm really excited to whip this out during the cooler weather when my skin needs that extra hydration. 

Oh dear Lord, I was looking forward the most to this product. I couldn't justify purchasing it because I have like 10834 serums to get through... but this is one of the smoothes serums I have ever tried. After you massage it in your skin, you really feel the product sink in and nearly plump up your skin with hydration. I'm REALLY looking forward to using this product and seeing if it does in fact help even out my skin tone (for my wedding!! please :D)

This was another product I was excited to purchase. Good thing I got it now! It has these amazing little vitamin E beads so you know that you are getting all the nutrients your skin needs. You leave it on for 10 minutes and wash it off and it feels SO lovely. My skin feels soft and supple and not irritated. I can't wait to see the long term effects of this product!

Au Natural

So I packed my bags and went away for two days... I packed my clothes, undies, phone, wallet... and you know what I realized I forgot?!?!

my make up.

holy good god! I was freaking out! I couldn't believe I had to last TWO whole days without make up. 48 hours... could i last?

As I pondered that night what I would do for the next two days, i contemplated not even taking off my make up that night... possibly trying to just leave my eyeliner on over night. (am I kidding myself?) Then I begged Felix to go with me to the drugstore so I can just pick up some concealer.

Then I thought, GET A GRIP, woman! My face is still my face!!! I can't believe how dependent I've become on make up. So much that I was willing to spend 10 dollars on stuff I already have or to sleep with all my make up on my face!? (I even thought sharpie might work as liner too...)

The first 24 hours were pretty rough for me. I was constantly self conscious of how I looked. I would pinch my cheeks over and over again to hope and get some color on there. It didn't help that Felix kept asking me if I was okay because I looked extra pale. (LOL he never makes the situation better!!!) And then I told him, I told you blush and bronzer make a huge difference!

Hour 24 to 36 became a little better. I realized that no one really noticed when I did or didn't have make up. I became a little more comfortable in my skin... and then I felt so ashamed that I have this 20 minute routine EVERY morning and can't live without doing it. How my whole world is turned upside down without that routine.

Can you believe make up has that much power?

Hour 36 to 48 I completely forgot that I didn't have any make up on. I remember accidentally rubbing my eye and thinking OHH! not to worry! SMUDGE PROOF since i have no make up on!! whoohoO! and life became a little better.

Then I realized how free I felt... how natural I felt... how it didn't matter, make up or not... everyone still saw me the same way... I'm still me. I think I might need to keep my make up off more often to remind me of these moments.
