NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment Swatches

You guys KNOW I have a thing for matte lippies, so when there's a product with the word 'matte' in it, you know I'm ON IT!!! :) I ordered these off sephora for an app presale and boy am I glad for it!

I believe there are 20 shades and they retail for $26 for .18fl oz. Although can only give you first impressions, I'm thoroughly impressed already. Each lippie I purchased is pretty much completely opaque and are incredibly long wearing. There is a nice range of colors, however I picked up four shades (most in the neutral shades except one deep).

These are the four shades I picked up :)

L-R: Save the Queen, Get it On, American Woman, London Calling

Get it On - tan rose (fully dry)

American Woman - Chestnut Rose (half way dried)
Save the Queen (favorite!) - dusty mauve

London Calling - Lilac Pink (IMO it was way darker than this! lol, it was more of a deep purply pink)

Here's my breakdown:

Texture: It starts off as a liquid and begins to dry down. It is incredibly lightweight and comfortable. It did land slightly in the cracks of my lips (not very noticeable) , but not the way a drying matte formula would.

Moisture: I'm most impressed by this because for any sort of matte formula - this is one of the most comfortable lip products for its long wearability. After 6 hours of wear, my lips did not feel dry.

Long Lasting ability: This lasted about 6+ hours (after that it was more apparent on the outer rim of my lip) including eating and drinking (water ;). Although it is not completely transfer proof (still moved if I wiped), it is definitely resistant to movement. After the color faded, there was still a nice lingering stain.

Pigmentation: is WOW. one swipe and it is completely opaque across the board on all my shades.

Packaging: I love the sleek package of nars products. Although it was incredibly liquidy, the square doefoot was very helpful in making very accurate and precise movement across my lips.

Overall -- I need to pick up more! LOL :) Definitely worth it if you are a matte lippie girl!

I purchased mine at sephora which comes out mid July but you can also purchase these on the Nars website or at a nars boutique :)

Bridal Hair & Makeup Trial - long hair

Hi friends! I have a busy couple of weeks with lots of fun makeup/hair trials. busy season is starting! woot.

Here is lovely Ester :) She's such a fun, sweet lovin' lady - was so fun chit chatting with her and getting to know her better! She wanted an eye look that would compliment her greenish eyes, with a more contoured look and rosy lips. For hair she wanted her hair down and curled with some pinned on the side.

I decided to go for a golden (bordering on coppery) color for her lids with a more purplish toned grey color for the crease to enhance her eyes, add some fun contour on her cheeks and pairing it all off with a beautiful rose lip color.

Before - so sweet and cute! GAH! don't you wanna squeeze her?

After :) (what a goddess!)

I had so much fun making her up and can't wait for the big day! :) Happy Planning, Ester! xo

Nars Adult Content Cheek Palette

Ok, did the name not make you giggle with embarrassment? Nars has some of the funniest, raunchiest, inappropriate, yet giggle worthy names.. and this one doesn't disappoint either.

Here is the palette in my hand for size reference :)

Not only was I drawn in by the name, but I was also drawn in by the fact that three of my favorite Nars blushes were placed in one palette. This palette is the same size as the 'foreplay' palette which was a cheek palette that was the 'deconstruction of orgasm. You can see my review and swatches here.

In this palette are:
Deep Throat - a natural peach with shimmer
Zen - described as a 'neutral beige' - but it is more of a soft brown color on my skin
Desire - cotton candy pink
Miss Liberty - peach beige highlighter color with shimmer

Man, I can't get over how much I love this palette because Deep Throat, Zen and Desire are three of my absolute favorite blushes from Nars. The color of Deep throat gives the perfect sheen of color on your face for an every day look, Desire is perfect for a night out, with a fun, cute pink -- to an intense hawwwwt pink, and Zen has always been my go to lazy 'contour and blush' color in one. Miss Liberty is just an extra goodie that you get as a fun highlighter that has some shimmer and glitter.

Below are the colors and swatches. In the palette going clockwise from top left: Zen, Miss Liberty, Deep Throat and Desire.

I adore this palette!!!!

I purchased mine from Nordstrom here for $49. :)

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer Review

If you know me, I'm a huge concealer junkie. I've tried them all. I think my obsession stems from wanting to cover my undereye bags. They've grown through the ages and because of my watery and oily eye area, often all concealers, mascaras and liners slide right off my eyes and settle under my eye. *CRIES*

The Cle de Peau concealer is my holy grail concealer because of its creamy yet dry formula that comfortably sits under my eye without budging while providing amazingly pigmented coverage. Unfortunately, at it's $70 price point, I'm always looking for a similar product.

Nothing has come close until I met this little fellow.

This concealer has such a unique texture. It's a liquidy, creamy, non sticky formula - might I even say, it is *almost* a liquid version of the CdP concealer. ;)

Okay, enough typing - let me let the pictures do the talking!

Here is my naked eye. I purposely made it a touch blurry to hide any significant flaws near my eye. HAHA! I feel shy :P

Here's a shot of the concealer spotted all over my eye. Does this look crazy? This is how I actually put concealer around my eye. I spot it everywhere so it has the most even coverage lol.

Here's how the product looks after I use my finger to blend it out:

Here are my eyes, the left with no concealer and my right with concealer. How weird do my eyes look - I have no clue what I was looking at!

I think that the picture tell it all. The coverage is beautiful as is the finish. It does do a great job of brightening my under eye area so I look awake and fresh. The lasting ability is the only part that falls flat on this product. With this product alone, it only lasted a couple of hours before it was gone! I learned that the only way to keep this product on my under eye is if I blot the product with a tissue on my face after I apply the concealer, then set it with a powder. :)

Overall, amazing product. It will be my cheaper holy grail product and I will be ordering this over and over again! for SURE!

You can purchase the product here and mine was purchased in custard.

Nars Foreplay Cheek Palette Overview and swatches

Dear Nars Cheek Products,

I love you.

Sigh. No matter what, I will always and forever love Nars cheek products. If any new products ever come out that are cheeks - I am on it. So this was definitely no question. First time I saw the ad for it, I quickly purchased it... and let me tell you it does NOT disappoint.

Here is the majorly sleek, Sephora Exclusive Nars Cheek palette in Foreplay!

The palette was intended to be a deconstruction of Orgasm - which I thought was SUCH a neat concept. This way you and mix and match your colors to make your own "orgasm" (lol)! It comes with the orgasm blush, a pink matte shade, a dark peach matte shade and a golden highlight shade.

This palette comes in a .36oz container which is slightly larger than the Nars Foundation powders which are at .28oz. Although it is a nice small size, I do wish each of the blushes were at least eyeshadow size. I can already foresee this product becoming extremely filthy with my big fat brushes trying to carefully sweep one color at a time to brush on my cheeks!

The blushes themselves are so incredibly smooth, finely milled and pigmented. I was actually shocked (which I shouldn't have been) at the quality of the blushes! These are the swatches below - each only have one swipe :)

I am so happy with this blush and absolutely adore all these 'exclusive' choices that Nars (and sephora) makes. Would I recommend it? HIGHLY!!! Even with the expensive $49 price tag, I think it's definitely worth it - get yours before it's gone! You can purchase this online at sephora.com or by clicking here!

Nars Foreplay Palette

Jul 3, 2012 | | 0 comments
If you know me, you know I absolutely ADORE Nars' blushes. They are by far my favorite cheek products evar in this WORLD! So it is not surprising that I went cray cray over the New Sephora Exclusive Nars Cheek palette in Foreplay. Sephora's last exclusive cheek product was the Danmari and I LOVED that to death!

This awesome palette comes with 4 shades. Orgasm and 3 other colors. The idea behind this palette is that it is the deconstruction of Orgasm - so it has a matte pink, matte peach and a golden highlight color. What a unique and fun concept. Love when there is a story behind a product!

It says it's .36oz which is just bigger than the bronzer powder. I haven't seen any swatches of this product as it just launched recently, but I have (of COURSE) already ordered it to share with you guys my thoughts.

So for now, I leave you with a picture of the product and the link to the site!

Til I receive my pretty cheek products ;)

Happy July <3
