Naked 3 palette!

In celebration of it arriving in Sephora and Ulta (SURPRISINGLY NOT sold out yet!) I decided to post up a couple pictures of my naked 3 palette! :)

I received it a couple weeks ago before Thanksgiving. I've only used it a couple times, so I can't give a complete review on it. What I can say is that I thought I wouldn't want this one because it has more of the pinky hues... but I'm pleasantly surprise at how wearable the shades are (haha i suppose thats why it's called 'naked' hhaha!) Generally I steer clear of pinks because I have monolids, it gives me a nice punched look... but this was way softer and easier to work with. And I really love the results!

PS. Of course on the day I tried to get good pictures, the weather was horrible! So I have crappy yellow lighting pictures for it. I will get new swatches up soon. and when I do, I will swap out these fugly pictures!

Without further ado, here is the gorgeous naked 3 palette!

Here was the look I came up with :) 

Lid: Limit.
Crease and transition color: Nooner.
Outer V: Darkside + Blackheart. 
Highlight: Strange.
Under the eyes: Factory.

Also I left the fall out so you can see how much did not make it onto my eye. Not too bad considering how soft and creamy UD shadows are. ;D

Joanna's Wedding Trial

Long times ago, I did my good friend Laura's hair for her wedding (remember in Tennessee??). It was one of my first brides that I've done. Man, how time flies! I remember just starting out in the beauty world - a little bit nervous to do it for real, but so excited to challenge my creativity.

One of laura's bridesmaids (first picture in old post) approached me to do her hair and for my good friend (and old roomie + childhood friend), Jenn, to do her makeup. JUST LIKE OLD TIMES!!! Jenn and I are a dynamic duo when it comes to wedding prep. She's an awesome makeup artist and hair assistant with an extensive knowledge and passion for cosmetics. We bounce a lot of ideas, opinions and positive energy around with one another, so I'm so glad to be teaming up with her again.

Anyway, she came in for her hair trial looking for a romantic side chignon that flattered her face shape. She didn't want too much volume on top, yet didn't want it too loose because she's a party animal and needs her hair to stay put. She also asked if I could put a couple of small braids just to add some extra texture to her hairstyle.

Here's what I came up with. Of course - as usual, all my hair trials don't have hairspray - especially after teasing, please pardon any frizziness :) [PS. I apologize for any photo coloring mishaps. It's my first time using an editing software on my new computer and I'm still trying to get used to it!]

For makeup, Joanna likes a bit of heavier makeup because she's bold and it's friggin' awesome! She wanted a smokey eye that would compliment her monolids and make her eyes look larger. And she played with different colors for her, but eventually she chose to go with a nude lip.

Fairy Drops Mascara Review

Oh you pretty little thing :)

Ever since a couple years ago when Jen, frmheadtotoe, reviewed the fairydrops mascara, I've been on the HUNT to find the asian ones (not the ones from sephora). I became OBSESSED when my bestest, Laura found me some from Asia. Then my good friend Jess or Strawbeefull on youtube went back to HK and picked me up another!

NOW i don't have to look any further, because you can actually purchase them at prettyandcute.com! It's also one of Janie's (the owner of P&C) favorite mascaras as well :D 

 What makes this mascara so unique is the applicator. It has these wavy bumps that really allow to get deep into the sparsest of eyelashes to help lengthen them. 

The problem with most mascaras for me is that they are too heavy and weigh down my lashes which makes it lose its curl. Because of the weight, it actually makes my lashes fall down and then it blocks my poor monolidded vision. 

The reason why I like this mascara is that it has a lightweight formula that isn't too liquidy or too thick, that holds the curl of my lashes while lengthening and adding fullness. Here are my lashes for your viewing pleasure HAA! 

 My poor naked lashes. This is what I like to call morning lashes. Some mornings I wake up, and my lashes are all over the place in like 100 different directions!

Anyway, you can see from one coat to two coats, it doesn't necessarily get "thicker," but for my lashes it gets more full. And thats what I like. I think in the end, it makes my lashes look very natural, but full rather than clumpy and thick!
