Jouer Liquid Lipstick Petale de Rose

Feb 8, 2016 | | 0 comments

OH MY GOODNESS!!! Ever since Christina, founder of Jouer Cosmetics started snapping that they would be launching liquid lippies, I have diligently been patiently waiting (stalking?) for their launch.

Two weekends ago, they debuted 6 of their shades at Generation Beauty. I got my hands on two of them... and they are DIVINE!

I'm a huge lover of liquid lipsticks, but drying formulas really accentuate my already extremely flakey, chapped lips.. so I'm always on the hunt for a hydrating formula. And just like any jouer product its pack full of hydrating qualities while maintaining their high, top of the line product.

my lips in sunlight.
I purchased the color in Petale de Rose which is this beautiful dusty rose color. Its a great every day color if you want to look like a classy act ;) It goes on like a liquid lipstick - quite silky, velvety smooth and thinly. It does get slightly tacky and stays that way for many minutes before it begins to dry down. I think because of this formula, it has helped my dry lips NOT feel so dry when I put it on. Once it dried, it lasted like a liquid lipstick. It lasted through eating, talking, coffee, etc. Although there was a bit of wear after 8 hours of teaching, you can still see the color on my lips after the full day.

I am so excited to see the rest of the line... I only picked up 2 at genbeauty - wish I picked up all of them! She also has amazing metallic shades too! (Metallic liquid lipsticks... what!?)

These are set to launch March 1 on jouercosmetics.com

Dior Addict Fluid Sticks

Hi friends! :)  It's been a crazy world wind of a month. Even though I haven't blogged regularly like I used to… doesn't mean I'm not buying a ton of stuff! HAHA :D

Today I have for you the dior addict fluid stains. they were all the hype, so I picked up three (lol) colors. They are quite pricy, but I do think that they are worth the price! And come on. look at that packaging!! :D

They are another one of those lipstick/lip gloss --- aka 'liquid lipstick' hybrids (similar to the shiseido). It starts of kind of cool on your lips and feel slick, but once you really get it on your lips, it kind of becomes slightly tacky (but not nearly as tacky as the YSL lip stains or lip glosses). Its very hydrating, so my lips never felt dry. The darker colors have slight staining power on my lips, but only for a couple of hours. Lighter shades wore around 3 hours on me and darker shades lasted around 4-5 hours. My favorite part about these are the creamy glossy finish it leaves and the fact that you can do a sheer layer or build it up to be quite opaque.

Overall, I think these are wonderful! It has a gorgeous formula, but if you don't like the slightly tackier formulas, this may not be for you!

I picked up the three shades in 389 kiss me (cool baby pink), 551 aventure (coral red), and 239 Frisson (gorgeous peach nude).

(389 kiss me)

(551 aventure)

(239 Frisson)

Will you be picking these sweet lip products up? I purchased these online at sephora. Don't forget to use ebates if you are shopping online! so easy to earn money/get cash back when you're shopping!

Loreal Extraordinaire Lip Colors Swatches + Review

Remember when I said I LOVE the Maybelline Elixir Color Lip Balms? That is because these Loreal lip colors haven't come out yet. If these two products came out at the same time, sorry Maybelline, but I would take all of the Loreal Lip Colors instead!

These are very similar to the Maybelline Elixir balms in that they are kind of a hybrid between lip balm and gloss, but the loreal stands true in saying that theirs is a lip color. To me this product is more of a hybrid between a lip balm and a liquid lipstick.

Let me break her down for you:

Packaging: I dont mind the packaging. It's very, I suppose normal for me. It is gold colored ,with a little peep of what color it is on the side of the packaging and on the bottom. It is a twist cap with a doe foot applicator. It has a fairly unique flat, slanted applicator that is very moveable to help make the application really nice and smooth.

Texture: These have a slightly thicker, balmlike texture. Its glossy (has one of the most gorgeous, luxurious shines to it!) yet it feels really smooth. not very sticky at all. I absolutely LOVE this kind of texture. If I were to compare this to the Maybelline, I would say that this one is slightly (very slightly) thicker.

Color: This is where the Loreal completely beats out the Maybelline Elixirs. Every color I have tried is consistent and true to the color on the packaging. You're not guessing whether or not the product will be sheer or hella dark. The pigmentation does not disappoint. They are all medium and buildable coverage. The darker/brighter ones are like WOW in pigmentation! Seriously stunning.

Wear time/moisture: This is also where Loreal outshines the Maybelline as well. This lasted about 2-3 hours on my lips and most stained my lips a beautiful hint of what the color was. The Fuchsia lasted all day - the stain on this was crazy!

Smell: It has a slight perfumy, fruity scent to it. Almost like... mangos? Not too overwhelming and once it is on your lips, you don't notice the scent.

Okayyy swatches are hurr:

Naked Lips

Rose Melody - a beautiful my lips but better color. It's a gorgeous peachy, rosy nude. Although it doesn't seem like the pigmentation is too strong, it does have decent pigmentation as I have placed the color over stained lips before, and you can still see the color!

Purple Prelude is this pretty mauve purple color. I wish I could go back in time to fall so I can wear this every day!

Fuchsia Orchestra is a fantastic bright fuchsia color. I was legit shocked seeing this on my lips, but the pigmentation is so fantastic, I can't wait to wear this come summer time! Totally should've made the swatch on the bottle a little bit brighter HAHA! nonetheless, I love how this looks!

Because I'm obsessed with Orchid colors (OBVI COLOR OF THE YEAR!!) and purply pinks, I just wanted to share my new favorite lip combo! use the fuchsia color and then dab it, and put the purple prelude color on top. LOVE THIS COMBO! think it looks like perfectionnn! <3

And that is all folks! Hope you enjoyed the swatches! let me know if you have any questions! I think they are definitely worth checking out! I think they are currently 9.99 with buy one get one half off or something at rite aid, or about 7.99 at Target!

Have a wonderful weekend beautiful faces! xoxo

Hourglass Opaque Rouge Review and Swatches

Oh how I love me some hourglass products. I swear by their mineral veil primer, their concealer and their glosses. When I heard about about these matte lip colors that lasted 14 hours, I was like 'whaaaat' haha I had to try it!

These lip colors come in these cute little lip gloss form (looks like their travel size lip glosses), but don't be deceived because awesome things come in little packages!

I picked up two colors, edition and canvas.

swatches of the lip products. Left is canvas, right is edition.
Canvas is an amazing 'your lips but better' color that I love to wear for every day. It looks so natural yet effortless. People probably just thought my lips looked hella amazing ;)

Edition was the first color I was drawn to. It is a muted bright pink with gold shimmers in it. I would love it way more if it didn't have gold shimmers, but it does add a pretty shine to it. I just find that after a long wear with it, the glitter particles are what sticks around on my lips rather than the lip product.

These have a wonderfully moisturizing texture when you first place the product on your lips. It feels thin and slippery. Quickly after, it begins to thicken and get a bit sticky. After about 30 seconds it become a completely matte formula. If you press your lips VERY strongly, you can still feel a sticky pull, but for the most part it is very matte and very much on your lips.

For me, the color did not transfer once it was dry. The only slight issues I had were if my lips weren't exfoliated, the product quickly settled into the cracks of my lips and made me look slightly scary with patchy products on my lips. After chatting with my good friend Rae, she recommended before the product was dry, to run your fingers over your lips, which was great advice!

One other thing --- Hourglass claims a 14 hr wear but that was not the case with me. With eating and such at MOST, it lasted me an 8 hour day. Even without eating, I could see it wearing off just a bit after the 4 hour mark. I think that was the only thing that made me 'ehh' a little bit, because why claim something that is so long when it isn't the case! lol (maybe i talk to much.....)

Overall these are amazing products but it comes with conditions. You MUST condition and exfoliate your lips or else the product will look a hot mess after a bit of time!

You can purchase this at sephora.comhttp://www.sephora.com/opaque-rouge-liquid-lipstick-P375384?skuId=1439447 or at any hourglass counter.
