Jouer Lip Enhancer Shine Balm Review + Swatches

I've been dying to try these since I was away this summer and I finally got to get my hands on these and boy, did these not disappoint! These are glossy and shiny and I'm loving this easy, on the go product!

The Jouer Lip Enhancer Shine Balm comes in 6 different shades at $18 per balm. If you order off of Jouer's website, there is always a 15% off code (CZoff I believe) that Christina (founder of Jouer) always offers. That means each lip balm ends up being $15.30.

In this six shade range, it ranges from a clear shade to a deep berry shade. Many of the shades lie in the neutral, wearable, every day shades. Personally, I love this mix - one clear, 3 neutrals, a red and a berry. I think the only thing that might have been missing is a brighter pink (but I don't care for those, so I"m happy with these shades! lol)

Below are the swatches and the shades on my lips:

L-R: Naturel (Translucent Light Pink), Peony (Tinted Peachy Pink), Amaryllis (Tinted Warm Brown Nude), Rose (Tinted Warm Pink), Poppy (Tinted Warm Red), Dahlia (Tinted Deep Berry)

Naturel

Peony

Rose

Amaryllis

Poppy

Dahlia
Here are my thoughts on these balms:

Packaging: Its a beautiful, weighty packaging with a standard twist up product. Each package has a different (and beautiful) floral gold design. So far I've have no problems with it -- and it definitely feels more luxurious than that price point.

Moisturization: This is a definite YASSS! These are super hydrating and balmy despite the fact that they are tinted. It helps my lips reduce flakes and they do feel plumper after I use it.

Texture: The texture is more slippery than I thought it would be. It is a shine balm, so it adds LOTS of shine which I think can attribute to the slip. It's not thick or heavy, but leaves your lips feelings really nice and moisturized.

Pigmentation: I was pretty pleasantly surprised by how buildable the pigmentation is. Usually for tinted balms its either you get moisture or you get color, and this you definitely get both! Although it's not like full on the color of the tube, it gives you the perfect tint.

Lasting ability: Like most balms, this lasted 1-2 hours before it faded, however it's easy to reapply and keep in your bag. Some of the darker shades left a bit of a stain and left my lips hydrated even after the lip product was gone.

Overall, I'm loving these! I think that these are perfect for every day wear and that dahlia shade is going to be my go to shade for the fall and winter!!! For the price, I think it was worth every penny! I happen to pick them up at a bundle price which actually made them $13 and some change. I'm SO happy I picked them all up because I seriously am in love with every shade!

You can purchase yours on the jouer website or at sephora!

Jouer Cosmetics High Pigment Pearl Lip Glosses Swatches + Review

The new Jouer Cosmetics Pearl High Pigment Lip Glosses just came in -- and if you like your metallic lippies, this is not one to miss! I personally adore the new high pigment gloss formula (even though I was so sad to see their old lip gloss line go!).

Their Pearl Lip Glosses come in 7 colors ranging from a warm peachy pearl to deep cool blackberry pearl. Below is their description:
This lightweight, creamy gloss delivers full-coverage pearl color that glides on smoothly and moisturizes the lips with Jojoba Seed Oil and Coconut Oil.
• Lightweight• Jojoba Seed Oil• Coconut Oil• Non-sticky formula• Warm and cool shades
Below are the shades and their swatches:

Maui - warm peachy pearl

Ibiza - cool baby pink pearl

Seychelles - Warm muted coral pearl

Riviera - Warm coral red pearl

Sahara - Warm cocoa bronze pearl

Tulum - Warm black cherry pearl

Maldives - Cool blackberry pearl

Swatches Top to bottom: Maui, Ibiza, Seychelles, Riviera, Sahara, Tulum, Maldives

And here are a breakdown of my thoughts:

Packaging: The packaging is the standard jouer lip gloss and lip creme packaging. It's luxe and heavy duty. I really appreciate when packaging is not round (this is square) so it doesn't roll around and is see through so you can see the color!

Pigmentation: As the name suggests lol, these are high pigment. In one swipe, you do get full coverage color - even the lightest shades provide full coverage. In all of these shades I didn't see my bare lip color! The shimmer in it is beautiful, but not overpowering -- just the right amount of pearlescent color.

Color range: I think for the 7 shades they chose, it was a great mix of cool / warm and light / deep. In this collection there is bound to be a color that everyone enjoys. I personally enjoy the deeper shades and maui is just so reminiscent of papaye which I love! (It would make a great topper to lipsticks!)

Moisture: These glosses are packed with jojoba seed oil and coconut oil, creating a super hydrating formula. These are some of the only glosses that leave my lips feeling hydrated rather dry and flakey.

Texture: The texture is very smooth (despite it being a shimmer) and lightweight. It doesn't feel sticky at all and they are very comfortable to wear.

Long lasting ability: It transfers easily... I mean of course, it's a lip gloss. And the color wore off probably within two hours. It's quite standard for a lip gloss as most last about the same time. I never minded reapplying :)

Cost: These are $17 each -- online you can ALWAYS get 15% off with Christina (Founder)'s code CZ15off I believe so then it becomes less than $15 per lip gloss. Each shade comes with 6mL of product.

Overall, I really love these lippies. I think they are great quality for the cost. If you are not a metallic/pearl person, I would skip these and stick with their regular high pigment lip gloss collection, but if you are, definitely check these out!

You can purchase these from jouercosmetics :)

COVERGIRL Vitalist Elixir Lip Oil Swatches + Review

Hey hey! Usually I don't post much about drugstore products, but I have been getting lots of new drugstore items and drugstore products are really steppin up their game!!!

Covergirl so sweetly sent me a bunch of their new Vitalist line and my favorite products of the bunch?? These lip oils!

Because my lips have been sooo darn dry this winter, I've been wanting something nice and glossy to moisturize and soothe my lips. I mean, matte lips have been around for long enough, right? lol

This is what covergirl claims:

Vitalist Tinted Lip Oil is a transparent oil that delivers a comfortable, non-sticky, non-tacky shine. Formulated from a blend of nourishing oils with a lightweight texture that instantly melts onto your lips. This lip oil works hard to deeply hydrate, condition and soften your lips with every wear while the tint enhances the beauty of your natural lip color.
There are 6 colors available. I have two of them in Cherry Crush and Melon Granita. Below are the swatches!

Top: Melon Granita
Bottom: Cherry Crush

Melon Granita

Cherry Crush

Here are my thoughts:

Texture: This is literally like a lip gloss texture. It's super hydrating and moisturizing. It's very reminiscent of the YSL lip oils.

Packaging: It is in a standard plastic lip gloss container. The doefoot applicator is a smaller applicator, which means that I needed to reapply a bunch of times to get it on my lips.

Pigmentation: This literally gives the lightest tint. If you are looking for a punch of color, you won't find this here. As you can see the melon granita is almost like clear gloss.

Hydration: YES! I've loved this for the really dry days. It's not sticky, its not so thick, but it does do a nice job of hydrating the lips.

Lasting ability: It lasted about 2 hours before I needed to reapply.

Overall, I really enjoyed these. If you want a cheaper version of the YSL Tint-in-Oil, I think this definitely is a fraction of the cost and very comparable! You can pick these up at any drugstore :)

Jouer Lip Glosses Swatches + Review

I cannot even begin to tell you how much I love Jouer glosses. These have essentially taken over all my glosses and are now among the most used glosses that I have.

These are among some of the most moisturizing, non sticky, hydrating and plush lip glosses I own. They are packed with Vitamin E, jojoba seed oil and shea butter for this amazingly buttery, smooth pout.

I have these lip glosses in four different shades. Three of these glosses are a creamy milky finish and one of them is more of a jelly finish. I didn't choose any lip glosses with shimmer, but they do have a great range of shimmery glosses as well!
I love the sleek, simplistic packaging of these! L-R: Malibu, Divine, Peony, Wind
It has a standard doe foot applicator :) I do wish that each time I took it out, it packed more gloss on the applicator. Maybe this is because I want to douse my lips in the color, but I have to dip approximately 3 times to get the amount of gloss  I'd want!
Naked Lips. Oh. So DRYYYY!
Malibu: It's a jelly-ish finish. Although the color in the tube is pretty 'hot pink' it only gives a lovely hint / wash of color. It almost looks like a glossy reddish pink stain.

Peony: This has as nice creamy finish. I love this dreamy cool pink color. This looks great on its own, but looks SO nice layered on top of colors. This always just gives that perfect hint of pink.
Wind: This also has as creamy, milky finish. This is literally for me, the perfect nude pink. It looks great layered, but gives enough color to wear on its own. I love how it has just the perfect amount of pink to not make me look dead! haha!
Divine: This is such a lovely creamy color. They describe this as a creamy rose. It's such a perfect my lips but better color. It this neutral, slightly brown rose color. It looks SO effortless! This is probably my favorite of the bunch!
Here are the swatches. Top to Bottom: Peony, Wind, Divine, Malibu
Overall, I am just so obsessed! I just wish that they had more retailers close to me so I can check out the colors before I purchase! All the colors I have purchased, I absolutely adore, so it may be worth the gamble! lol! :)

You can purchase these lip glosses for $20 online at jouercosmetics, nordstrom, and at these retailers.

Loreal laLaque + leMatte Lip Colors

I'm never huge on drugstore products because of my sensitive skin, but occasionally (or more than that HA!) I enjoy picking up a couple new lip products to try out to see how drugstores are coming along. These are the fairly new Loreal Colour Riche leLaque and leMatte lip colors. It comes in 8 different shades of pinks, corals, browns and purples. Although I think that is fairly versatile, most of the colors are very bold. I wish it came in more every day neutral colors! Here's my break down:

Packaging: These are lipsticks in a almost lip pencil form. The twist up contraption is very easy to use and good for preciseness. The one thing I find is if you don't twist up high enough, as you are applying, you are getting product all over the packaging.

Smell: The smell is similar to the regular Loreal lipsticks. Slightly overpowering of the flowery, old lady smell.  Not a huge fan, but I would still use it :P

Formula/Moisture/Pigmentation: I love the texture.

The laque formula is similar to loreal lipsticks. It is thick and moisturizing without being overbearing. It gives full coverage of lipstick, but could be nice and sheer if you put just a little bit. the laque formula is very moisturizing- as are all loreal lipsticks for me!

the matte formula is slick and moisturizing. It's not dry (unlike most matte lipsticks) and has amazing lasting power. You do have to be careful, because mine transferred fairly easily (despite it being on my lips for a while), and I somehow had lipstick on my chin after a couple hours!

Lasting ability: I would say these have better lasting ability than their usual lipsticks. If you look below, the lematte formula lasted a good 7 hours before you started to see serious wear. The lelaque formula lasted a nice 5 hours before I had to reapply. I know some people experienced feathering with the leMatte formula, but I didn't have that problem (as I don't usually have much problem with feathering)

Loreal leLaque in 411 and leMatte in 408.
twist up contraption makes it so easy to apply!
Loreal leLaque in 411 and leMatte in 408.
Showing the beautiful sheen of the leLaque formula compared to the matte formula!
Here is the laLaque formula in 411 - it gives a beautiful opaque color. Its a gorgeous everyday neutral mauve pink.
Here is the laMatte formula in 408. Gorgeous rich opaque color as well. Extremely precise!
I apologize for the strange flash! I was in a place that didn't have much light! Here is the lipstick after 5 hours. (I drank some water with a straw and had half a sandwich by this time) As you can see, still pretty intact!
This was after about 7 hours, as you can see, the color in the center of my lips have completely come off, just leaving an epically cool lip liner ring of red on the outside. (and my skin is so shiny ew!)

Overall, this is a great new product. I definitely recommend it. If you can get over the 'loreal smell,' these are definitely worth the hype and worth a try! They have a lot of nice vibrant shades, I'm looking forward to hopefully them getting in more neutral shades *cough*

For more swatches of the other colors check out my good friend Jenny's post with her lip swatches as well! :)

Thanks for reading! xo

Ardency Inn Modster Lip Color in Love Cat

This red lipstick is perfection. PERFECTION!!!

So I've never heard of this brand, but it popped up while I was playing around on sephora.com and surprisingly the reviews were pretty good. That never happens for me because I feel like I know good things before anyone else does, so WTH!?!? How did other people know of great products that I didn't know of?!

Thus, I picked it up. (LOL. gets me every time)

I'm not huge on the packaging for this product, but it is chic and to the point. It's shorter than most lipsticks and chubbier, but it has a magnetic closure. MAGNETIC. that's my favorite :)

I LOVE the creamy formula of it. It's not too sticky or thick, but it is pigmentation perfection.

I also love that the finish. It's luscious and matte, but leaves just the slightest tinge of shine so it moisturizes your lips.

Speaking of moisture, I also love that it is nice and moisturizing. It doesn't accentuate fine lines or my dry lips. It actually hydrates my lips. The color also doesn't bleed for my lips (whoo hoo!). This color lasted about 3 hours on me before starting to fade in the center.

without lipstick

with the Ardency Inn lip color in lovecat!

I'm also obsessed with this color. Its so badass. It's a deep red with blue undertones. And you know what it makes me want to do with my lips??

This:

says, "BAM!"

haha :) Hope you enjoyed this post and give their lipsticks a try! I am dying to try some of the other ones!!

You can purchase them for $24 from sephora.com
